The MSSS is going to Montreal during reading week again this year. We are currently hammering out all the details. Please be patient as we try to plan the best trip for you that is as inexpensive as possible while still allowing you to have a great trip. Look for more details in the upcoming weeks.

Recently, we put out a call for submissions for the Social Science's quarterly publication, the Frontline.
We were met with overwhelming response for submissions! The September issue of the Frontline is MASSIVE! Once it is completed it will be FORTY PAGES, which is a record!!
We will have copies on the stands, and if you are a first year Soc Sci student and you bought your MacPass (which you should definately do!!) you will be getting a copy in there.
Come September the MSSS will be hiring Two Co-Editor Positions, and one Photo Editor position for the Frontline. Applications will come available during Welcome Week at the MSSS office. Ask the blue suits for more info during Welcome Week!

Chartered bus picks everyone up right from the student centre. Three days, three nights at the Delta Montreal...and some surprises too. All for $120, but only until January 31st. Afterwards, tickets go up in price!

IT'S BIRTHDAY WEEK!!!
What is Birthday Week you ask?
Birthday Week is the celebrations the MSSS is putting on to celebrate the anniversary of the creation of the MSSS.
There is lots of awesome stuff to win (an ipod or two...), food (cake!), and other random giveaways.
Come by the MSSS Office (KTH 101A) from Thursday January 24th until Monday January 25th to put your name in a raffle, get some cake, or to pick up your tickets for the upcoming formal, as well as the Montreal trip.
As the time draws nearer to the annual MSSS Formal, we have gotten some publicity from other sources! We are kind of a big deal, and this formal is no exception.
MacInsiders (www.macinsiders.com), a club on campus, has written an article about the upcoming formal. It includes some pictures from last year's successful formal, as well as information about the NINTENDO WII and ITOUCH we will be giving away.

The annual Social Sciences formal is occuring this year on February 1st. This year's theme is An Icy Gala.
Want to know where to pick up tickets? Compass is currently doing a pre-sale for us.
Before January 21st tickets are $30 per person. Afterwards, tickets are $35 a person. But, you may only buy tickets from Compass provided your guest is a McMaster student.
Every year we have awesome prizes to give away. The last two years we have given a very lucky person a Nintendo Wii, and this year we will have some pretty sweet swag again.
